Geoff Tanner

I received the following message and I pass it on to members with great sadness.

“It may be some time since The Grange Camera Club heard from my father, Geoff, who died last week. He was Secretary some time ago. I thought some of you may still remember him so I just wanted you to know.

Service at Bushbury Crematorium, retiring to his home in Brewood for friends and family afterwards. I am sure some of you may consider yourselves friends.

Best wishes,
John Tanner.

Died peacefully on April 15, 2015.

Funeral service at Bushbury Crematorium, on Wednesday 29 April, 4pm. Family flowers only please. Donations to RNLI and Wolverhampton Sea Cadets, c/o Roy Quinton Funeral Directors, 83 Westcroft Av, Wolverhampton, WV10 8LN

Although it is some time since we saw Geoff I am sure that members will remember Geoff’s happy disposition and the passion he had for analogue photography. His slides and in-depth knowledge of Telfords churches and canals left a lasting impression on many of our group. It was his enthusiasm that made me realise how important it is for us to document our surroundings for future generations.

Annual General Meeting.

Well after, in my view, a most interesting year, we have reached the end of our weekly meetings. Next week is our A.G.M. This is where we set the agenda for next year, vote in the new committee. This is the meeting where the members have the chance to voice their opinions. If we do not know what people think we will not be able taylor the club to your needs.

Plans are in progress for our Summer meetings, it is hoped that at least a draft plan for the 2015-6 season will be presented at the AGM on the 29th.

At the moment we have most of the details of our first trip on June 3rd to Liverpool. These will be published as  soon as they are finalised.

Remember that our Club exhibition is at the Institute on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th July. Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday pm, manning the exhibition and taking down. The times of the ehibition are 10am to 4pm. Gerry needs our prints, these prints need to be mounted (do ask if this is a problem for you) with information on the back. Size does not matter too much but A4 on the longest edge would be ideal. This is a great opportunity for us to present our club and ourselves into the view of the community.

We are back.

I have at last been able to get back into the admin part of the site. For the last, what feels like years, I have been unable to change anything. So first of all our profound appologies, mine in particular.

At the moment we have most of the details of our first trip on June 3rd to Liverpool. To ease finances please bring £10 for each member or close relative, £15 for non members. Place the money in a sealed envelope with the name or names on the front and give it to Gerry on the 22nd.
